On May 22, 2009, members and friends of YAAA gathered for dinner at Al Mayass Armenian restraurant in Beirut. The dinner featured Stephen Buck '62, longtime US diplomat and YAAA Advisory Board member, as well as special guests Rami Khouri, Director of the Issam Fares Institute at AUB; Khalil Bitar, Dean of Arts and Sciences at AUB and YAAA Advisory Board member; and incoming freshman Samer Sabri '13, the newest member of the Yale Arab family.
