More than 700 Palestinians, many of them civilians and refugees, have been killed by Israel in Gaza. 10 Israelis have died, and the threat of continued and escalating violence is an immediate, pressing concern. In the pursuit of its mission to serve and to empower the Yale alumni community with an interest in the Arab World, the Yale Arab Alumni Association has launched YAAA Responds to the Crisis in Gaza.

This interactive platform aggregates reactions, links, and multimedia submitted by YAAA members around the world and is updated daily. All members are welcome to contribute: please email your submissions to gaza@yalearabalumni.org.

The Yale Arab Alumni Association (YAAA) launched in the summer of 2007 with a series of events across the Arab World.

AMMAN On August 10th, Yale alumni came together to send off three new Jordanian students to the Yale Class of 2011.

BEIRUT On August 3rd, Yale alumni in Beirut flocked to Walimat Wardeh in Hamra for an evening of Arabic delicacies and live music by Ziad Sahhab and Shahhadeen Ya Baladna.

CAIRO On July 27th, the YAAA celebrated its inauguration in with a concert on the Nile by the Yale Whiffenpoofs at Sawy CultureWheel to a full crowd of around two hundred and fifty, followed by a party on a catered yacht cruising the Nile.
